Odile Gilbert
One of the most sought after hairstylists in the world, Odile is the first choice for some of greatest names in fashion. Whether concepting and creating for the haute couture designs of Chanel, Christian Lacroix or Gaultier Paris, or styling the ready-to-wear shows of Rodarte, J.Mendel and Hermes, she is a catwalk master.
Starting her career as an assistant to the acclaimed Bruno Pittini in Paris in 1975, Odile moved to New York in 1982, working with top photographers such as Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton and Irving Penn to name just a few. In 2000 Odile opened her agency/workshop L’Atelier 68 in Paris, and five years later masterminded the acclaimed hairstyles for Sofia Coppola's film Marie-Antoinette. 2006 saw Odile reach the incredible achievement as the only hairdresser ever to be awarded the medallion of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture and Communications.
