This fall we asked four of our talented INOA colorists to each color a model for our advertorial in Vogue’s October issue to showcase the color results possible with INOA. To find out what the experience was like for Kathleen Flynn Hui of Salon AKS, read on:
1. How does it feel to see your color work in Vogue?
It always feels good when you have your work in such a prestigious publication!
2. Tell us about your color choice for the model you worked with in the Vogue advertorial. What was your inspiration? What gives the look you created that je ne sais quoi?
I did not want to cover all of this beautiful blonde hair with one single color, so I chose three beautiful INOA brunettes starting from the lightest caramel with a cognac and then a light chestnut. I used the Balayage method and painted every other strand with each shade, using her natural haircolor as my lightest color. What gives my look that je ne sais quoi? My model jumping for joy with excitement over how much she loved her hair (that is the point, right?!)
3. What do you like most about working with INOA?
The consistency of INOA is perfect to paint with. It gives a rich color that reflects light. Not only does it jump of the page in an editorial spread, but it also gives hair added thickness and body with enormous amounts of shine.
4. What color trends are you most excited about this season?
I never conform to trends! My motto has always been, “it does not need to look natural, it needs to look great!”
5. What’s next after appearing in Vogue?
Luckily, I am always doing something, but most importantly I have a thriving business that allows me to keep doing what I love- keeping my clients color beautiful!!!!
