COLORIST EVA SCRIVO ON INOA/VOGUE PROJECT

This fall we asked four of our talented INOA colorists to each color a model for our advertorial in Vogue’s October issue to showcase the color results possible with INOA. To find out what the experience was like for Eva Scrivo of Eva Scrivo Salon, read on:

1. How does it feel to see your color work in Vogue?
It is so exciting to see my work in the October issue of Vogue. As an artist and as a woman, I have looked to the magazine as a point of reference for fashion and beauty my entire life. I am thrilled to help set the trends for its readers.

2. Tell us about your color choice for the model you worked with in the Vogue advertorial.  What was your inspiration? What gives the look you created that je ne sais quoi?

My model needed to become a redhead. I formulated a vibrant, yet believable shade that complimented her light olive complexion.  Red is always a good choice for women with sallow or olive skin tones, since it helps to bring more warmth to the face. Once her mousy, light brunette hair was colored auburn, I hand-painted light copper highlights and richer low lights, to create a more dimensional result. More variation in tone creates more natural hair color.

3. What do you like most about working with INOA for this advertorial?
I love using INOA when creating dramatic changes since it deposits evenly and allows the hair to maintain its natural shine. It does not smell and allows for a better experience for the stylist and client.

4. What color trends are you most excited about this season?
Trends that I forecast will include dimensional, multi-toned hair color. As if created by nature itself, only better. The art of hand painting –Balayage—will replace most foil highlighting and low lighting techniques. Also, I’m excited about further developments in ammonia-free color alternatives for salons and our clients.

5. What’s next after appearing in Vogue?
I will continue to train my staff, educate my clients, and support the vision that L’Oréal Professionnel has for the future. I am also thrilled to be opening a new salon on Madison Avenue – an intimate studio for clients, bridal parties, as well as advanced color education for stylists.
